Technology

Thank God for technology. However, there are some who see technology as one of the “powers” that has gone astray under the influence of evil. This is an arguable point, I suppose, but many have benefited from technology. Dr. Marva Dawn has written of the evils of technology especially as she follows the writings of Jacques Ellul, among others. What do you think?

If we look around us, almost everything we see is technology; lights, toilets, books, computers, telephones. Are the lights in your house evil? Is your toilet evil? Are books evil? Are computers evil? I am not sure that these inanimate objects can be evil. I think we can, however, do evil things with technology. If we use the tools God has given us properly, they can be very beneficial.
